#ARTICLES: GUEST WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A TEENAGER LICK A FROG TO GET HIGH

Sammy Blythe, a 17 year old from Colorado, had a problem: somehow, he had lost his ecstasy pills. To compensate, the teen took to nature for an alternative fix.
While at a rave, Blythe and a friend took to a nearby river to find the largest toad they could locate – in an effort to get high. The Bufo Alvarius is believed by chemists and scientists alike to secrete an ingredient called “Bufoteinne.”
The effects of the substance are known to be intoxicating and have psychedelic effects on users.
However, using of this substance requires the user to quite literally lick the back of a toad – and that is just what this Colorado teen did. Apparently he went as far as sucking on the toad in an effort to get high. His friend was even kind enough to catch a picture, showcasing the moment that this teen will remember for the rest of his life.
Apparently he felt no initial side-effects, and never actually got a high at any point. The next morning, however, his tongue had swollen considerably, and when he saw his tongue he proceeded to puke profoundly.
His mother rushed him to the hospital, where an ER staff member confirmed that the hospital does regularly see cases of teens ending up at the hospital after licking river toads.
Being exposed to the chemical that certain toads excrete can actually cause extended, and oftentimes delayed conditions. “Black hairy tongue” is what it would be commonly referred to, and can be associated with various disgusting mouth ailments following exposure.
However, with a relatively short round of antibiotics the ailment can be cured. The simple advice though, to avoid licking toads – would be even better.
